TRIALS ARE BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE!
COURT IS FINALLY OVER!!!!! The law suit that I received from my Motor Vehicle Accident that occurred on April 26, 2007 is finally over as of yesterday!
All I need to say is that it wasn't supposed to even go as far as a mediation, but apparently everything that could go wrong or differently did so with this situation and case in court. Court was moved a few times; was only supposed to be three days and ended up being from Monday, January 26th to Monday, February 02! Talk about a long weekend... After it was all said and done we got to speak with 2 jurors who stuck around and they were for my side and felt the Plaintiff should have gotten nothing! I wanted to tell them they were my new best friends, but didn't feel that was appropriate! It's over now and I can fully appreciate the knowledge, experience, friendships, and my relationships with my family and Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ because of this accident and law suit. Justice is not only here on earth, but in Heaven as well!
I'M TRULY GRATEFUL FOR THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS AND ITS TEACHINGS! I KNOW IT IS TRUE, AND I LOVE MY HEAVENLY FATHER AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST WITH ALL OF MY HEART! THEY HAVE TRULY BLESSED ME AND MY FAMILY! AMMON, ALEXIA, AND I WERE ALL OKAY FROM THIS INCIDENT AND WE ARE A CLOSER FAMILY BECAUSE WE ARE NOT TAKING LIFE FOR GRANTED AND ENJOYING THE SMALL THINGS!!! There was a point in these past two years that I really wished we could all just skip this life of trials; greedy people; and pain and just be able to live together with Heavenly Father without all of this drama. (Not what you're thinking, I was just really pondering about Heavenly Father's plan and thinking "poor me/pity Trenda" party. Only for a brief moment till Ricardo helped shape me back to reality.) I realized shortly thereafter that first of all, my trials are nothing compared to others and someone else always has a greater need than myself. We must find those individuals and help them by providing service and love so we can also learn to cope and overcome our minor trials. Second, The Gospel and Primary has truly blessed me and my family!!! Heavenly Father has give such a wonderful plan for us to come here, gain a body, learn to prepare to meet him, and help others learn from our mistakes, trials, and teach our children to live life to its fullest. To do this I MUST teach Lexi and Ammon to always go to the Lord in all they do and put him first in their lives; provide service as a family and individual; learn to overcome trials by looking at the positive, giving service to those in need, and through lots of prayer and a close relationship with our Heavenly Father. I'm blessed to know the purpose of life, and instead of dwelling on the negative I MUST do and act as he would want to me do. I MUST do so for myself and my children, and my family!!! I LOVE MY HEAVENLY FATHER SO MUCH AND THANK HIM EVERYDAY FOR MY MANY BLESSINGS: MY SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST; MY FAMILY; THE TRUE GOSPEL HERE ON THE EARTH; THE PLAN OF SALVATION; MY FRIENDS; MY NEIGHBORS WHOM I CAN HELP TEACH AND SHARE MY BLESSINGS; THE LIST CAN GO ON FOREVER!
I haven't blogged in a long time, but partly because of life and this law suit. In the past it's been long entries like a journal. It will continue to be the same. I enjoy reading my friends blogs now, and look forward to sharing our lives and adventures with each of you! Lexi will be 4 in 2 days, and Ammon is 15 months! My sweet Angels are getting bigger!
Thanks for the many prayers, fasting, and words of encouragement from each of you! My favorite quote of all time is from President Ezra Taft Benson of the Church. He says, "God does notice us and watches over us. But, it is usually through another person that he meets our needs." I can't reiterate enough how true that phrase has been for me these past two years! I'm learning that I need to do my part and be prayerful to help others who are in need, just like he sent so many to help me in my time! I challenge each of you to do the same this 2009. I know the family/individuals you are helping, you, and your own family will all be blessed! May God Continue to Bless us All!

"What Ya Thinkin'?"
So last night I was on my knees putting away Lexi's DVDs' and she squatted next to me and asked me, "Mommy, What ya thinkin'?" I smiled and replied, "I was just thinking I need to get busy cleaning." She looked at me and thought about it for a moment. I then asked her, "what are you thinking about?" Her reply was, "I was thinking about daddy." :-) She then ran to be with him in the garage.
She's a daddy's girl through and through! We're going to miss him next week while he's at Scout Camp! I thought maybe she was going to have him come back in the house and help me clean, but that didn't happen. We'll have to work on teaching her that. He made up for it in the morning though. He helped finish the dishes before he left for work! Thanks daddy for all that you do! Lexi loves you dearly and so do we!

Star Shinning Brightly & Reasonable Doubt
I FINALLY purchased and read these two novels written by my good friend, Marcia Mickelson. They were AWESOME! I didn't want to put them down and read them both in two days! Funny how you forget how much you enjoy reading! Hard to get it in lately with life and reading lots of kid books, but I'm so glad I did! I'm mailing them to my sister in Utah for her to read next! If you enjoy reading fun, mysterious, and thrilling novels with a little romance, then you will thoroughly enjoy these two books. They are church member story lines, and I absolutely enjoyed them! I purchased them through http://cedarfort.com/. It's a book publishing company like desert books! (They were great! Silly me put the wrong state on my address, which I always double check. The manager emailed me several times to reassure me and was great! I ordered the book on a Sunday and it was at my home by that Thursday! Great company!) Below is a link to Marcia's website and you can even read the first chapter of both books online! Too cool! Okay, Marcia, I'm waiting for the next book to come out!!! Can't wait, and you have a very special gift! Way to go, and we miss you dearly! I'll have to get you to sign my books when you come back for a visit!

Ricardo Cruz, E.I.T.
CONGRATULATIONS, RICARDO! He just found out he passed his E.I.T. (Engineer in Training) State Exam! It takes 2 months to get the results and he was excited to say the least! He came home singing to us, "Daddy passed his test!"
Way to go, daddy! We Love our E.I.T. and future P.E. (Project Engineer)

We have Movement!
AMMON IS OFFICIALLY CRAWLING TODAY!!! :-) I'm ecstatic! He is totally different from Lexi since he has been a booty scooter to maneuver around the floor, while Lexi rocked back and forth on all 4's then scooted backwards first before crawling forwards. Ammon on the other hand has just rolled around and scooted on his back and tushy to get to places. I would leave him in a room for a few moments and come back and he would be on the other side of the room. So fun to see the many differences between the two!
Last month he worked himself to being on three of four limbs and last week he would start on all 4's and actually rocked back and forth a few times. Didn't last long though cause he went back to scooting around on his backside.
The past few days he has crawled a few inches, but today he went several feet! He LOVES to sit up on his own and move around. We had to lower the crib cause he can pull himself up to his knees now... He's trying so desperately to pull himself up onto his toys and feet. So fun!
Guess this means I have to keep all of the house clean and not just certain areas!!! This will be good for me though!
Many pics of him on his limbs, but no video of him moving yet! I forgot to recharge all 10 batteries and wouldn't you know I just used up our last film from our video camera on father's day!!! So hopefully get him soon!

Future Fun to Come for our Family!
Here are some Adventures our Family is looking forward to this summer!
*Purchased Lexi some more Curriculum workbooks that incorporate the core activities from Sam's Club, and looking forward to Lexi continuing with her desire to learn new things. Also got a book for practicing cutting, and one for more Arts and Craft ideas. Already used all three of them for a few weeks now, and she is really enjoying them. A little more than the ABC Letter of the week book. (I encourage everyone to check them out! Cheap too!)
*Finishing Lexi and Ammon's playroom! Going to call it, "Club, A.C."! (Almost done, and I'll show pics!) Got tired of Lexi having to doing crafts and school on the big, tall table, and the toys being everywhere...
*New play dates with the Eden Ward including Movies, swimming, and new friends...
*Story Time started back this past week & it got kicked off with their READING Challenge & the Theme this weeks was HORSES!!!!!!! Lexi had a Blast, and got right in to it, even without her friends, Chloe and Alyssa being there. I was excited for her! Since Thursday, Lexi has already put down 8 books on her list... Last year she got tickets to a Mission's game so that would be great! She LOVES to read, and is more attentive with the longer books now! I like that! I'm not as worried now when she's playing on her own and it gets quiet, cause I often find her reading a story quietly to herself. She often gets in to it, and dramatizes the stories. Ammon likes to listen to her!:-)
*Zoo visits this Summer. Didn't go last year.
*June 15th: Father's Day! We've got some fun activities in store for daddy, he just doesn't know it yet!!! I Love the Internet. So many fun ideas.
*June 28th: Daddy gets to go to Scout Camp with the young men again! He loves it in Scouts!
*4th of July: Ward Social at church filled with water activities, food, baseball, and a Flag Ceremony... Lexi's going to have a BLAST!
*End of July: Driving Trip to Oklahoma to see Briley family & new cousin, Kambree! (See how long Lexi and 'little a' can last in a car, me too for that matter. It's been a while since we drove the trip up there!)
*Trenda's 10 Year High School Reunion, July 26th! (I was the class President so I'm in charge... Hopefully all will go well! Sooo Looking forward to catching up with my friends, and Lexi playing with their kids... Our Motto was, "Looking Forward to Looking Back," and now we can actually agree with it! (Rick had his right after Lexi was born, and let me tell you it was a three day/evening event! Fun, but ours will be a lot simpler. Not to mention, NOT NEARLY AS MANY PEOPLE... The advantage of a smaller school. I will never disclose how small though. You wouldn't even believe me if I told you! Fun times though & can't wait!)
*August or September: My sister, Heather Ellis, and her family might get to come and hang out with us for a few days, yeah!!! Hopefully get to go to lots of fun places here in SA, like Sea world, the Zoo, Children's Museum, etc... So many great things to do here!
*November 16th: San Antonio 'Rock 'n' Roll' Marathon. Wish me luck! (If I get back in shape in time, and feel like it, then I could complete the full Marathon. For now, just working on half!:-) Hopefully raised the funds and training will be on schedule by then!!! (My brother, Jared would love this! He's been in two different cycling Marathons where he has ridden his bike for 50 miles. This one in SA will be a little over 100 miles... Maybe I'll talk him in to coming down one year to try it out!)
Hope you all are having special events that you are looking forward to! I love to 'Live in the Moment' with my family, but look forward to fun events also helps me get more prepared and organized. It also helps me stay more focused on the important things in life and not dwell on the day to day tasks, or TRIALS in life... Kids help too! I love their smiles, outlook on life, and sweet spirits!:-)
Enjoy the month of June! It's my FAVORITE cause Summer begins!
